Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard most often used for website accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This website partially conforms: most of it meets the standard, and the gaps we know about are listed under Known Limitations below.

Accessibility Features

  • Text menus: every menu is typed text on the page, not an image or a PDF, so each dish and description can be read aloud.
  • Alt text: photos have text descriptions that screen readers read aloud.
  • Clear page structure: each page has headings in order, marked navigation and main content areas, and a “Skip to main content” link.
  • Keyboard navigation: every link, button, menu and the photo viewer can be used with a keyboard alone.
  • Focus indicators: a visible outline shows which link or button is selected when you use a keyboard.
  • Labeled controls: buttons and links have names that screen readers announce, and menus and the photo viewer announce whether they are open.
  • Pausable motion: the scrolling information bar, the press carousel and the rotating press quotes have pause buttons, and start paused if your device is set to reduce motion.
  • Accessibility menu: optional settings for reading aloud, text size, contrast, link highlighting and animations, described below.

Using the Accessibility Menu

Select the round accessibility button in the bottom-left corner of any page to open the menu. You can:

  • Read aloud: hear the page in your browser's built-in voice, with each part highlighted as it is read. Pause, resume or stop at any time.
  • Text size: make text larger in steps, up to 150%.
  • High contrast: switch to white and yellow text on a black background.
  • Highlight links: mark every link with a yellow background and an underline.
  • Stop animations: stop scrolling, fading and rotating content.
  • Reset all: go back to the default settings.

Your settings are saved in your browser, so they stay on as you move between pages and when you come back. The menu is an extra convenience: the site is built to work on its own with your screen reader and with your device's zoom, contrast and motion settings.

Keyboard Navigation

  • Tab moves to the next link or button. The first press shows a “Skip to main content” link.
  • Shift + Tab moves back.
  • Enter follows a link or presses a button; Space also presses buttons.
  • Esc closes the mobile menu, the photo viewer and the accessibility menu.
  • ← and → move between photos in the photo viewer.

Screen Readers

The site uses standard HTML and ARIA and is built to work with common screen readers, including:

  • JAWS and NVDA (Windows)
  • Narrator (Windows)
  • VoiceOver (Mac, iPhone and iPad)
  • TalkBack (Android)

If anything is read out incorrectly or skipped, please let us know.

Third-Party Content

Some parts of this site come from other companies: online reservations from OpenTable, Google reviews and Instagram photos through EmbedSocial, and the map from Google Maps. We don't control how accessible these are. If you can't use them, call us at +1 305 673 3373 and we'll book your table or answer your question.

Known Limitations

  • Color contrast: some text and buttons in our gold and green brand colors are lighter than the WCAG contrast ratio requires. Turning on High contrast in the accessibility menu, or your device's contrast setting, makes them easier to read.
  • Third-party content: reservations, reviews, Instagram photos and the map may not be fully accessible, as described above.
  • Read aloud: uses your browser's built-in voice, isn't available in every browser, and is not a replacement for a screen reader.
