Few places celebrate New Year's Eve like Miami Beach: warm ocean air, Art Deco lights and fireworks over the Atlantic. If you're looking for the best place to watch the fireworks on December 31, 2026, Ocean Drive puts you right in front of them, and Pelican Restaurant sits at 826 Ocean Drive, facing Lummus Park.
Where the Fireworks Are
For each of the last two New Year's Eves, the City of Miami Beach and the Ocean Drive Association launched fireworks from the Lummus Park beachfront at 11:59 PM on December 31 (city announcement, December 2025). Lummus Park is directly across Ocean Drive from the Pelican Hotel. The city also held a free concert with midnight fireworks at Collins Park, between 21st and 22nd Streets.
As of October 2026, the city hasn't announced its plans for New Year's Eve 2026. Check miamibeachfl.gov closer to the date.

Getting Around on New Year's Eve
Last season the city closed Ocean Drive to cars from December 24 to January 11, so plan to walk or use a rideshare drop-off nearby. Parking garages fill early on New Year's Eve; see our hours and directions page for parking options.
Dinner Before Midnight
Pelican Restaurant serves dinner from 5 PM, with homemade pasta, fresh seafood and Sicilian recipes from Executive Chef Gio Sofia. Dishes for a celebration:
- Three Tier Seafood Tower with oysters, king crab and half a Maine lobster ($145)
- Catalonia Style Black Rice Paella for two ($125)
- Lobster Ravioli in saffron sauce ($36)
- Champagne from Ruinart, Dom Pérignon and Louis Roederer Cristal
Last Year's New Year's Eve Dinner, and This Year's Plans
For New Year's Eve 2025, Pelican hosted a New Year's Eve dinner with a front-row view of the fireworks on Ocean Drive, with doors opening at 8 PM and a $200 non-refundable deposit to hold a table. Details for New Year's Eve 2026 will be posted when they're set: call +1-305-673-3373 or follow @pelicanrestaurant to ask, and book early, because Ocean Drive tables go fast on December 31.
